A qualified and experienced restoration specialist

Peter Taylor at Taylor’s Antiques started his career as an apprentice cabinet maker at the London College of Furniture, qualifying with a City & Guilds.  Being half Swiss he went on to work in Switzerland for a German restorer for 2 years gaining extensive knowledge and experience of working on French, Austrian and Swiss Furniture.

The next four years were spent on something quite different – working for British Aerospace on a large project providing woodwork and pattern making for the prototype Harrier Jump Jet.  This has enabled Peter to turn his hand to restoring virtually anything and this together with his time spent in Switzerland has possibly led to his second passion of restoring classic cars and driving them at race events and all over Europe.

After his time at BA, Peter set up Taylor Antiques in 1984. He has continued to expand his skills by studying at the Richmond School of Art and gaining another City & Guilds qualification in Gilding.
